Fishing

If you love fishing...

We're a catch-and-release (CAR) venue for carp, bass & kurpers.

PLEASE NOTE:

Each fishing person (12yrs+), only 2 (TWO) rods are permitted.
Children fishing (11yrs and younger), only 1 (ONE) rod is allowed.

If a kid is fishing, that means they're either holding the rod while walking around and fishing or sitting next to a rod that's already cast in the water. If they're not in the shaded area or near their rod, the rod must to be taken out of the water.

ONLY single BARBLESS hooks are allowed! (soft plastics) - NO double or treble hooks (3-hooks) allowed!

The following is NOT PERMITTED on the venue!!!
* NO platannas (aka the African clawed frog),
* NO chicken livers or chicken heart (no meat stuff)
* NO tiger nuts.

You may use flies or soft plastic lures for bass fishing. Also, please use a soft net. Children may use earthworms or bread when catching kurper (worms can be ordered on WhatsApp).

A penalty of R350 will be enforced should any fish not be handled with care as stipulated by the rules of the venue.

Take Note:
We don't have rods for hire on the venue - please bring your own fishing gear (single barbless hooks only).

You must handle the fish with care:

• wet your hands before touching the fish.
• please DO NOT step on the fish at all or put your shoe or feet on the fish!
• do not put the fish on the hot cement, jetty or the grass.
• use your net to pick up the fish.
• kneel when holding a fish - do not stand as the fish might drop and gets hurt.
